ACCELERATED CORROSION TESTS ON LAB SAMPLES
In the following pictures, examples of lab scale tarnishing tests are reported. Each set of samples is photographed before and after the test, in order to evaluate the discoloration of each sample. In the upper row, results of the three reference alloys are reported: Sterling Silver, Ge-based silver, and 375‰ white Ag-based gold alloy. In the bottom row results of SILNOVA-01 formulation are visible, in direct comparison with other alloys from this project.

Remarks:
- Reaction on SILNOVA-01 and gold started only after 72h, whereas evident discoloration was visible within 36h on other silver samples.
- At 96h, although partially discolored, SILNOVA-01 and 9 kt white gold still have a smooth surface, polishable with a cloth.
- At 96h, reaction between 9 kt white gold and SILNOVA-01 are comparable.
